Fast, camera-based capture built for bound material

Commercial book scanners are not like normal scanners; they are usually a high quality digital camera with light sources on either side, mounted on a frame to give easy access for a person or machine to flip the pages. Some models use V-shaped book cradles that support book spines and automatically center the book position, making this type of scanner much faster than overhead scanners.
